Merrill Police were busy over the Labor Day weekend, Saturday officers Officers investigated a report of a Battlefield cross stolen from a grave in the cemetery. Officers also investigated a theft of prescription drugs from a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. Later in the day A Merrill officer investigated suspicious persons by Good Samaritan hospital. A 19 year old male was arrested for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and possession of an illegal schedule IV drug. 
 
 Merrill Police would like to remind residents to not leave keys in their cars, lock them, and to report any suspicious persons overnight in their neighborhoods.
 On Sunday Merrill officers brought a 39 year old male to jail for violating terms of his bail bond.

Officers investigated a report of a tire slashed on a car in the 900 block of E 7th St. Merrill Officers received a report of kids destroying two tricycles that were at Parkside Preschool. Investigation continues. Also Sunday,  A semi struck the traffic signal at E. Main St and Pine Ridge Ave, the pole was knocked over and the traffic lights are in the flashing mode, until repairs are made.
