From the Wis D-O-T:

Crews are planning to close WIS 64 from Mill Street to Center Avenue in the city of Merrill on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The closure is necessary to advance to the next stage of the WIS 64 reconstruction. Workers will be replacing the existing pavement with new asphalt, installing new sanitary, water and storm water pipes as well as new curb and gutter.

Local access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained via side road access. The closure is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. and is expected to last until early November. During this closure, traffic will be detoured using Lincoln County K and County Z.

Motorists may also encounter construction activities on adjacent side roads. Motorists should also be alert for slow moving vehicles, heavy construction equipment and turning trucks near the work zone. The work requires favorable weather conditions and is subject to change.
