Two central Wisconsin men have been cited for driving the same vehicle while drunk at about the same time. It happened Saturday night a few miles west of Mosinee in Marathon County. Sheriff’s deputies responded after being told that a 22-year-old Madison man jumped out of a pick-up truck. It happened while several people were fighting in the vehicle, as it slowed down on Highway 153. When officers arrived, they saw a 22-year-old Colby man helping the Madison victim. And in the meantime, a 20-year-old man from Athens allegedly tried to hide the truck in a driveway.
After investigating, deputies cited both the Colby and the Athens men for O-W-I. The Madison man was treated at a Wausau hospital for head injuries. And a fourth person in the truck, a 19-year-old Dorchester man, was cited for underage drinking. The Colby man owned the truck, and officials said he had a drunk driving charge pending in Wood County. And the Athens man was convicted of O-W-I in the past.
