RELEASE - State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) and State Representative Jeff Mursau (R-Crivitz) released the following statement regarding Governor Walker’s newest appointment to the Natural Resources Board:
“Today, Governor Walker appointed Gary Zimmer to serve on the Natural Resources Board (NRB). Gary is a regional biologist with the Ruffed Grouse Society and former United States Forest Service employee. He and his wife Olivia live in Laona where they have been active members in the community. Gary will bring a wealth of experience in wildlife management but most importantly extensive knowledge of the forest products industry.
At a time of great flux in the forest products industry, it is vital to have NRB members with vast knowledge of the impact that forestry policies have on frontline people making a living in Wisconsin’s forests. We want to thank Governor Walker for recognizing the importance of Gary’s background and the positive impact he will make on the NRB. We look forward to working with Gary and extend our congratulations.”
