40 Pounds of Treats Sent To Okinawa.
The holiday is going to be brighter thanks to the generosity of the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center. Director Jane Deau announced the center has sent out over 1,600 Christmas cards to area veteran homes, veteran hospitals and a special gift box to a platoon in Okinawa, Japan.  Several people throughout the past 3 months attended the Community Center and wrote out the cards.  In fact a church from Woodruff and Wisconsin Public Service joined in to help.

Members and guests of Community Enrichment Center also sent 40 pounds of treats and cards to Lance Corporal Christopher Frick and his platoon station on the Japanese Island of Okinawa. Christopher Frick has a special connection to the Community Enrichment center, before joining the Marine Corps; Frick refinished some cabinets in the Centers kitchen as part of his Boy Scout Eagle Project with Merrill Troop 503.

With all of the help and support of so many people, The Merrill Community Enrichment Center surpassing last year's number of 1,300 cards sent out.
