On Saturday November 17, 2012 the Lincoln County 911 center was notified of a hunter who was found unresponsive in the woods in the Town of Russell outside of Gleason.
The cell 911 call reported the incident on Town Hall Rd north of Dudley Rd at 6:19 PM. When the Town of Russell First Responders arrived on the scene they took over CPR from an off duty Everest Metro Police Officer who was the victims hunting companion. Rescue efforts were continued by Merrill Fire Department paramedics but the victim was pronounced dead at 7:00 PM.
The cause of the fifty one year old Antigo man’s death is being investigated, foul play is not suspected. Victims name will be released on Sunday afternoon. The Town of Russell Fire Department assisted at the scene.
