20-year-old Sean Janas waived her right to preliminary hearing on felony counts of animal mistreatment and intentionally poisoning an animal. She’s also charged with a misdemeanor count of obstructing police. Janas is scheduled to enter pleas at her next court hearing on November 12th.
A trial date could also be set at that time. Prosecutors said Janas poisoned her boyfriend’s four-year-old dog Mary, a German shepherd and Labrador mix. Officials said she tortured the animal before Mary died in June. Janas remains in the Marathon County Jail.
