Local Crews Help

Wisconsin Public Service has confirmed that we are sending crews out East to assist in utility restoration efforts.  Twenty-five WPS employees will join thousands of other utility employees from across the country to restore electricity to the millions of customers without power in the northeastern United States resulting from Hurricane Sandy.

The WPS contingent of employees and equipment will leave tomorrow morning for Connecticut and is expected to stay in that area for two weeks. The company will leave employees behind to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to its customers. Deploying the other employees and equipment will likely mean that WPS will have to delay some scheduled maintenance but should not affect normal operations.

The cost of the assistance will be passed along to the respective utility companies requiring the help and will have no affect on WPS customers.
