Sex Offender to be Released

The Merrill Police Department, in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes, has notified WJMT that a sex offender will be released from prison on 10/16/2012, and will be re-entering the community and placed on restrictive supervision administered by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
                                                             
Release Date: 10/16/2012; Mr. Bonitz will be released back to Lincoln County, which was his county of residence at the time of his conviction and county of conviction.  He is to be released to extended supervision and supervised by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections – Probation and Parole Office in Merrill, Wisconsin. Mr. Bonitz will be under intensive supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until 10/19/2018.
 
Upon release, Mr. Bonitz will be placed on restrictive Intensive Supervision Program and will subject to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Global Positioning System (GPS). Mr. Bonitz will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. The WI Sex Offender Registry can be located at www.widocoffenders.org.
 
Offense Summary: Lincoln County Cases- Mr. Bonitz, on multiple occasions, sexually assaulted a minor female relative between the ages of 5 to 14 years old.  Marathon County Case- Mr. Bonitz, on multiple occasions, sexually assaulted a 7 year old female acquaintance.
