The operator of the motorcycle was airlifted from the accident scene to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau by Spirit MedEvac where he passed away from injuries sustained in the accident. The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as 56-year old, Richard E. Quade of Mosinee, Wisconsin.
The initial investigation shows the operator of the motorcycle was westbound on U.S. Highway 8 when he reached down with his left arm towards his lower leg. The motorcycle then crossed the centerline entering the ditch on the opposite side of the road, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 8 and Crescent Road. The motorcycle then struck the stop sign at that intersection and the driver was ejected off of the motorcycle.
The operator of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office is completing the accident investigation.
