Lincoln County existing home sales shot up significantly in March, with home sales growing 47 percent over the levels of March 2011, according to the latest monthly report by the Wisconsin REALTORS Association. Lincoln County Home prices in March also skyrocketed for the first time since the end of 2010, the average price for a home in Lincoln County was up 65 percent in March of 2012. This is an indicator the increase in sales was NOT due to the sales of foreclosures.
Lincoln County is outpacing the state in existing home sales, Wisconsin as a whole saw a 25 percent increase over the levels of March 2011. The Wisconsin Realtor Association says an improving state jobs market is helping home sales. Since December, the state has added nearly 18,000 nonfarm private jobs even as government employment fell by 3,400 based on seasonally adjusted estimates.
