Merrill Accepts Contract of New City Administrator

Posted at 7:53 AM

It’s now official. Merrill has a new city administrator. The city has accepted the signed contract of David Johnson who will begin his employment with the city on May 14th.

Mayor Bialecki said that Johnson would be in earlier than that, sitting in on committee meetings to get up to speed on things.

The city has been without a city administrator for nearly a year after Tony Chladek resigned last April.

Johnson is the former Wabasha County administrator who lost his job after being fired by the county board an abolishing the position.

Johnson’s annual salary will be $86,346.
