Several agencies responded to Lake Nokomis late Friday night after cell 911 callers reported a recreation vehicle had broken through the ice.
Just after 10:00 PM a caller reported the four wheeled LUV was sticking out of the ice off of County Rd Y and the status of the occupant(s) was not known. Lincoln and Oneida County Deputies along with Tomahawk Fire, Tomahawk EMS and Nokomis Fire Department all responded to the area. At about the same time a Wausau man called and reported his eighteen year old daughter struck the machine while driving a snowmobile, she was injured but denied an ambulance.
The machine was marked that evening and the Rec-Deputy met with the owner on Saturday morning to investigate the incident. The LUV was removed by a tow company, no citations were issued.
