The plan is backed by Agra Industries and carries a 7 million dollar price tag. While the county is holding a 1.2 million dollar insurance check from the old grandstand that was raised last summer, Agra industries has said they will provide monetary support or steel work for the project. During last night’s meeting the LINCOLN COUNTY Fairgrounds Marketing & Usage committee decided to send the project to the property committee for some votes and debate.
This Lincoln County Expo center would be an economic boost to the community. This Expo Center is intended to replace the grandstands at the fairgrounds and is designed to be used throughout the year. Supporters say the Expo Center would host many different events not offered in Lincoln County like; Motocross shows, Winter cross, Truck and Tractor Pulls as well as concerts, horse or dog shows and RV or Sporting Shows.
The proposed Expo Center is expected to be the largest venue outside of Milwaukee, Madison or Green Bay. The arena floor would measure 150 by 250 feet and have a capacity of close to 3600, if a concert was held, close to 6000 people could enjoy the event.
