I spent last Saturday at Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells.  I got there early, shortly after they opened, and immediately got in line to ride the newest attraction: the Scorpions Tail.  Although it was early, we still had to wait in line for over an hour.  The sound of the hydraulic floor opening…the screams…and the slamming shut of the trap door made it an intimidating wait.  After waiting, and walking, and waiting, and walking and waiting….I finally arrived at the top level.  You ride the Scorpions Tail by stepping into what can only be described as a phone booth (does anyone remember what those are?).  Then the bottom drops out…literally.  You fall straight down nearly 5 stories, hit the bend at 50 miles per hour, loop around the tail at a 45 degree angle….and you’re done.  That it!  6.5 seconds later the ride is over.  But the adrenaline rush lasts much longer.  Long enough keep your heart pounding as you head to the back of the line to do it all over again.
